Who is Jamil Lee..?
Hailing from Minneapolis MN, Jamil is a freelance actor, director and writer. Though there is a seeming focus on acting, he believes the art requires a multidisciplinary approach and considers himself to be a theater maker who works at creating experiences through different avenues of expression. With an ever growing love and appreciation for the theater, Jamil has discovered a space where he and other marginalized individuals can have their stories shared in an authentic and true way. Jamil holds a BA in Theater (Performance, Directing, Playwriting and Dramaturgy) from Augsburg College (Minneapolis, MN) and has most recently received an MFA in Acting from the University of Essex (London, UK). Jamil’s most recent credits include his debut on both West End and Off-West End stages such as the Arcola Theatre, Tristan Bates Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
Throughout the scope of my work I simply aim to be a beacon of truth. It is one of my fondest aspirations to inspire those who are to come, as they truly are a mere reflection of the impact that we as a community have had on them. It is with great honor and integrity that I seek to uplift and empower individuals from all walks of life in hopes of bringing them all together, even if temporarily, through the influence of my work.
